My Week

  A BREAK! A BREAK! I got a break this week! Which, as you can tell, makes me way too happy! After a busy, busy June I took Friday and this coming Monday(tomorrow) off, so I’m happily ensconced in the weekend between two shortened weeks. Ah, what a lovely place to be.

My week was actually really good, though not particularly exciting. I presented to the board members at work this past week about my program and I was pretty proud of how I did(plus, that day I got free lunch, so. . . always a plus). An old friend from early high school just so happened to be in my town for the week so we grabbed dinner Wednesday. I loved showing off where I live and catching up(it’s nice to realize that after five years, I really *know* my town too and could recommend all sorts of places–shops, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.) And my long weekend has been wonderful so far!

On Book Blog Bake

Monday I reviewed On the Fence by Kasie West. It’s Kasie West, so of course it was cute and lovely.
Tuesday I reviewed Free to Fall by Lauren Miller. Secret society! Technology! A weird academy! I really enjoyed it.
Wednesday I reviewed Something Real by Heather Demetrios, which I loved.
Thursday I talked about how the reading police do not exist.
Friday I reviewed Wish You Were Italian by Kristen Rae. It was cute, but but kind of forgettable.

 Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang

I picked up the following books from the library this week:

Last Night I Sang to the Monster by Benjamin Alire Saenz
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch
Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent

Every Book is Not the Hunger Games @ The Librarian Who Doesn’t Say Shhh!

It’s true that people really *do* love comparing books to The Hunger Games. . .

The Sunday Wrap-Up{52}

I had a very quiet week. I have three roommates, and they all either a)work for a school or b)are college students, and they were all on Spring break this week. Two of them left for a few days, so suddenly my house has gone from having four people to two. It’s been nice and […]

The Sunday Wrap-Up{49}

My week was pretty good overall! I was off Monday, so that was nice. It gave me time to clean my room and read Crown of Midnight! And short work weeks are always good for the soul. . . as long as you don’t have to play catch-up later(I was a bit ahead, so it […]

The Sunday Wrap-Up{47}

Remember how I was all “BLEH, JANUARY, BE GONE?” Well, I have to say that February has gone MUCH better. So far, nothing has been broken or seriously annoying, so we’re already on a better page. I feel better about stuff at work and personally and on the whole it was a pretty good week. […]

The Sunday Wrap-Up{45}

I’ve noticed that my January weeks have been rather blah lately, but I’m happy to say this week was definitely better! It wasn’t amazing or anything, and my job was worse–only because of a scheduling mix-up and annoyances and such–but personally, life was on the up. I can’t say exactly why I’ve been feeling “blah” […]
