The Sunday Wrap-Up{95}

My Week

Hmm. Did I have a week outside of finishing my group project? I don’t think I did. But luckily, my group and I are done!(Well, the assignment deadline was Thursday, so I’d be worried if we weren’t. But we finished a little early, anyway). It wasn’t even a hard assignment, it was just time-consuming in terms of research and putting it together. The good news is I feel like I’m back on track with my classes! I had never *really* fallen behind, but I did get to a point of stress and I’ve been making a lot of effort to minimize it.

I’ve also started working on a WIP again, which has been on the backburner as I got adjusted to classes. It’s funny, because I feel like I’m doing all the things I supposedly never do when writing with this story. One–it’s a romance. There are other plot elements, but it’s mainly a romance. Two–I’m writing it by hand, which is not my preference at all. I’ve finished two prior manuscripts before, and I’ve NEVER written by hand more than quick scenes that came to me when I was away from the computer. For some reason, though, with this story I open up a word document and I just. . . don’t have anything. But as soon as I go to a pen and notebook the words flow.

On Book Blog Bake

Monday I reviewed The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow(which I LOVED LOVED LOVED).
Wednesday I reviewed What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler(which I also really liked).
Friday I reviewed Only Ever Yours by Louise O’Neill.

I re-read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda because I was having a blah day(and that book always cheers me up), but nothing new.

Bingo update:

bingo 2015

Re-read- Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
A Borrowed book: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas(I pre-ordered a copy, but Amazon was slow so I borrowed a kindle copy from Terri)
Author shares first initial-Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas
Sept/Oct/Nov Release-Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales
Book set in another country- Wildlife in Fiona Woods(it’s Aussie YA, so it takes place in Australia)
LGBTQIA: Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin
lol-worthy: Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli(seriously, one of the few books that makes me laugh every.time. And I’ve read it a LOT of times now!)

 Question of the Week:

Team Pumpkin Spice Latte or no? This is a solid NO for me. I love pumpkin-flavored FOOD, but pumpkin or pumpkin flavoring needs to stay far, far away from liquid form in my opinion.

It’s just sort of. . . bland. The few times I’ve tried one I haven’t HATED it, but it always felt like a waste of money.

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever *tried* anything savory with pumpkin in it. I’d like to try eventually, but it doesn’t sound as appealing to me as the sweeter stuff.

Haha, I don’t hate the whole hype over the PSL, I just don’t get it. I’ll gladly take the pumpkin scones instead, which are delicious.

  1. YAY, I’m so glad your project is done! (For real this time, haha.) Celebrate with some pumpkin yogurt. But definitely NOT any pumpkin drinks. Gross.

I can’t believe you’re writing a romance. Who are you? I’m even more surprised – and impressed – that you’re writing by hand. That’s quite ambitious. I guess if it works, it works. Good luck with the WIP. 😀

I wasn’t originally planning to read The Scorpion Rules, but so many people have loved it that I’ll give the audiobook a try. I think I trust your by now.

      Yes, it is really done!
Haha, well, the romance is the NA I’ve discussed on twitter before, so there are a lot of other threads too–figuring life out, etc, and it’s definitely NOT an angsty romance. It’s. . . kind of fluffy, really. I have NO plans to write any other books by hand! For some reason, it’s just that THIS book seems to be demanding it.
Ahhh, yes, The Scorpion Rules! This makes me excited/nervous.

      • Oh right, the only NA I’m actually excited about! That’s exactly what I want NA to be.

Haha, maybe I should have told you AFTER starting it.
