The Sunday Wrap-Up{78}

My Week

 My week started out pretty good, but then took a slight nosedive. Monday & Tuesday were good and I had a phone interview for a job in Austin(fingers crossed, y’all). Then, Wednesday I woke up and I just felt SO SO exhausted. And not like “I didn’t sleep well” exhausted. Like “I think I’m getting sick and I could sleep all day and I don’t want to eat anything and I don’t think my body is up to standing under running water for ten minutes in the shower”. So the last half of the week has been me trying my best to stave off more sickness with sleep and water and fruit juice. I started feeling a bit better on Friday though, so I’m mostly back to normal now.

On Book Blog Bake

 Monday I reviewed Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. This book’s getting a lot of hype, and I think it’s completely deserved. Plus, it’s out now!
Tuesday I talked about how I’m trying to tackle my TBR. It’s kinda frightening.
Wednesday I reviewed Make it Right by Megan Erickson. I was surprised by how much I liked this, considering the main character in this novel was a side character in the first & annoyed me greatly.
Thursday I talked about the rounding up or down of star ratings.
Friday I shared the second edition for my on the maybe shelf feature.

Why indeed. I loved this discussion by Cait on sexist societies in epic fantasy!

 Question of the Week:

 If you had to name a child RIGHT THIS INSTANT for some reason, what name(s) would you pick?
I’m generally not a huge fan of “classic” names, but I actually love the name Jane, so I’d go with that for a girl & maybe Michael(BUT NOT MIKE) for a boy.

      Yeah, I felt much better this weekend! It was just 2-3 days–maybe a bug of some kind, I guess, or just a few days of severe allergies. And thank you! I hope something comes of it for sure.

  1. If I didn’t have to get my husband’s blessing on the names, I think I’d go with Ryan for a boy, middle name James or Lincoln, and for a girl maybe Kathryn. I think about this pretty frequently, between being a writer and having SO many friends announcing they’re expecting, so I change my mind frequently!

    I’ve been a fan of the name Jane lately as well. I used to think it was plain (I’m sure “plain Jane” didn’t help) but I think Jane Austen’s stories got me thinking otherwise! I have friends who gave their daughter the middle name Jayne, spelled like Jayne from Firefly.

      I know, I’m the same way when it comes to names! I’m always so bad at naming my characters, it always takes a few attempts. I change my opinions on names SO frequently!

      I think I like Jane because it’s quite a “normal/plain” name, but it’s one I don’t personally see used very often, and it has sort of an old-timey feel without sounding TOO old-fashion(to me, anyway).
