I’ve decided to participate in the 15 Day Book Blogger challenge hosted by Good Books and Good Wine. This is definitely a move-at-your-own-pace challenged(which is AWESOME), so even though April did her challenge a month or two ago, she left the linkys opened. Yay! I should also note that I’m not doing these EVERY day–I might do one or two a week. I’m too much of a scheduler to try and do all fifteen days in a row!
My under-appreciated book is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I feel it’s an interesting choice for an underappreciated book because it’s very acclaimed. It’s won a lot of awards(later printings have a few medals on that dust jacket right there), and it’s on the TBR of many of my friends, but I know few people who have actually read it. And of the few friends who have read it, many didn’t like it. But to me, it’s such an important and special book.
This book is about SO, SO much, but mainly about love and family and friendship. I loved the writing style and the way I could just FEEL everything, you know? It’s one of those books that’s so beautifully written it’s almost hard for me to discuss because I just want to keep it to myself. I wrote my gushing review of it already, but it’s one of those books I’ll want to revisit again and again.
