TTT5

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, which features (you guessed it!) top ten lists on a given topic each week. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on my Fall to-be-read Pile.  As normal, these are in no particular order! Some of these are books I need to get around to reading that I  already own, and some are Fall releases.

1. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl

I’ve been anticipating this book since JANUARY. January, people. Fandom and an incredibly introverted, shy main character? Is this a book about *MY* life? Apparently, yes. I cannot wait to read this one. I just want it in my hands ASAP.
Edit: I have read & loved this. ‘Tis the problem when you write TTT like this three weeks in advance.

2. All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

All Our yesterdays

At first, I was going to pass on this book without knowing what it was about. I’m not sure why, because I like the title and the cover, but the book just never stood out to me. But THEN I learned this is a time travel book, and well. . . we all know how I feel about time travel.

3. The Brokenhearted by Amelia Kahaney

The Brokenhearted

I won an ARC of this from Epic Reads, and I’d like to read it in October. Some of the early reviews seem pretty mixed(I see the term insta-love popping up a LOT), but it still sounds it could be my kind of book. Bionic hearts!

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass

Throne of Glass

Clearly, I am the last person to read this book. I need IN on this train, especially since Crown of Midnight, the sequel, has been getting FANTASTIC reviews. This totally sounds like my kind of book, so as silly as it sounds, I’m almost “saving” it for after a book I might not like as much. Am I the only one who does that? I can’t really see myself NOT liking this, so I want to save it almost as a palette cleanser.

5. Hourglass by Myra McEntire

Hourglass

More timey-wimey stuff. AND this is a trilogy with all the books out, so I can go directly to the next book if I so desire!

6. The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Naturals

This book looks so DIFFERENT and good. I’m so excited to read about teenage profilers. It look suspensful and awesome and potentially a great October/Halloween read, since I do suspense but not really horror. PLUS, I LOVE the cover for this book! It looks like a TV show advertisement.

7. The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Ocean at the End of the Lane

It’s Neil Gaiman. GAIMAN. I’m on the list for this one at the library, so hopefully I get to read it this Fall. Here’s to wishing the people on the wait list ahead of me are fast readers.

8. Unsouled by Neal Shusterman

Unsouled

Unsouled is the 3rd book in the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman, and I NEED this book. It probably says something about me that I want a book I’m pretty sure will emotionally scar me & creep me out a lot like RIGHT NOW, but yeah, SO looking forward to this one!

9. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Allegiant

I’m pretty sure this one is self-explanatory. . .

10. Just One Day by Gayle Forman

Just One Day

This one is sitting on my shelf, but I’m attempting to wait until Just One Year is released so I can read them back-to-back!

So, what’s on your Fall TBR? I’m curious!

  1. Kala

awesome list! alot of these are on my to read list 🙂 Feel free to check out my list over at thewishfullamb.com

  2. Jenna @ Rather Be Reading YA

Not only have I not read Throne of Glass, I had never even heard of it until today. There, don’t you feel better now?

  3. I keep seeing Fangirl on lists and damning myself for forgetting to add it to mine. I’m patiently waiting for my library to get it. (But they need to hurry. Haha.) All Our Yesterdays and Hourglass are really high on my TBR as well. I love time travel stories, so they should be fun. (Also: Loved the DW reference.)

  4. I really enjoyed The Naturals, I have low expectations for YA crime books and once you suspend belief in whether this could ever happen, then it’s really good. The profiling was a highlight for me.
I really want to read FanGirl and All Our Yesterdays too.
    Great choices.

  5. So many great books! I’m glad you liked Fangirl!! I almost put All Our Yesterdays on my list, I need to read it. I’m so excited for Allegiant! I hope you enjoy Just One Day! I feel crazy with so many exclamation points but sometimes periods just don’t seem to cut it. I need an inbetween punctuation!

  6. Great list! I’ve got ALLEGIANT and THE NATURALS on my list, too, and it’s a good thing you’ve already read FANGIRL, or else I’d be commenting in all caps saying READ IT, READ IT NOW! (: And JUST ONE DAY! I just bought that and need to read that soon! I really want to read THRONE OF GLASS and HOURGLASS, too. Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Just One Day. Yes. YES! Haha, I love Gayle Forman 🙂 And Allegiant is everywhere! Everyone seems to be looking forward to that, and to no surprise of mine XD I’m really looking forward to Fangirl too, and All Our Yesterdays seems like an interesting book that’s been receiving pretty good reviews 🙂 So yeah! Have a wonderful fall Stormy!

  8. Stormy, you are up for a wonderful fall! SO many awesome books!

    1. Fangirl – Gosh, I want to read this so badly, but when I requested it on NG, St. Martin’s declined it. Glad to hear that you loved it! And *high five* for scheduling. 😉

    2. All Our Yesterdays – Read this one a couple of weeks ago and totally adored it. It’s probably one of the best romance/sci-fi YA novels I’ve read this year. Can’t wait to see what you think!

    4. Throne of Glass – I keep telling everyone to read this, but unfortunately not many people listen to what I have to say. I’m so happy you’re giving this a go, though. And like you, I’ve only been hearing amazing stuff for the sequel, which I really need to get, but… *looks at empty wallet*

    6. The Naturals – Fingers crossed we both enjoy this!

    7. The Ocean at the End of the Lane – Truth be told, I’ve never read anything from Gaiman, but I really do want to read this because it sounds so creepy and dark — just my kind of setting. Plus, that cover’s freaking gorgeous.

    9. Allegiant – I still need to pre-order this. I have no idea what I’m waiting for.

    10. Just One Day – I’ve heard nothing but great stuff for Gayle’s books, so hopefully you feel the same way, too!

  9. Just One Day!!!!!!!! Amazing. 🙂 I loved it so much, and I can’t wait for Just One Year next month!

I’m reading All Our Yesterdays right now, and it’s amazing. Like you, I passed on it at first but time travel gets me every time!

Oh, and you will love Throne of Glass. 🙂 SO good! Thanks for visiting my TTT. 🙂

  10. Fangirl and Just One Day are both books I really need to read soon! I didn’t put them on my top 10 for fall, but I never really follow my top 10 anyway haha! And I cannot wait for Allegiant! It can’t come soon enough!!

  11. Eve

You have so many good books on your liiiiiiiist! I’m reading Fangirl right now and IT’S AWESOME. It’s written by Rainbow Rowell, so it’s not a big surprise, but still <3 I identify with Cat, even though I'm not yet in college.

All Our Yesterdays is a great book. Em is a really strong character and Finn is so funny and such a good friend! I still have to read Throne of Glass, Hourglass and The Ocean at the End of the Lane, even though I have them… And I'm excited about Allegiant! The reveal at the end of Insurgent was so intriguing! And I started Just One Day a few weeks ago, but put it down because of another book (can't remember which) and still have to get back to it.

I know these are all the books I’m like AHHHH need to read right now! I’m so excited to get to All Our yesterdays!

  12. Hope you enjoy The Ocean at the End of the Lane, it’s such a wonderful and Gaiman-y book xD (not to mention a fairly quick read, lol).

I really want to read Fangirl too! Unfortunately I will likely not get around to it until maybe next year/when it hits paperback–too many other books to read in the meantime! xP
