As you may have noticed, there’s this little celebration called Valentine’s Day currently going on, but it’s also my two month blog anniversary–yay! If you’ve been around my blog for any length of time, it’s fairly obvious that while I read a lot of books and I blog frequently, I’ve fallen a little behind on the third part of my blog name: “Bake”. Oops.
I’m an officer in an on-campus organization at my university, and we have meetings every Thursday night. Since we’re having a meeting on Valentine’s day, we decided to have sort of a themed meeting. Wanting to brush up on my baking skills, I decided to make, rather than buy, something for this meeting. Cue stalking Pinterest for cute themed baked goods. I’ll share what I made for this meeting later(code: It’s Thursday morning but I haven’t decided which of these I’m making yet!), but I thought I’d do a round-up of just a few of the lovely Valentine’s Day treats I found in case you’re getting a last-minute itch to make something!
Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies @ Sally’s Baking Addiction
These look so good– a chocolate chip cookie with a twist!
Strawberry and White Chocolate Cake Mix Cookie @ Mom On Timeout
I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate, so I personally don’t think I would like these, but they look very festive and colorful.
Strawberry Cool Whip Cookies @ Yummy.Healthy.Easy
These look SO EASY and delicious. I’m definitely leaning towards making these right now. 4 ingredients. 4 ingredients! These definitely look like a hit for a strawberry fan such as myself.
Valentine Wafers @ Craft-o-Maniac
Such a smart idea for a Valentine’s concoction. These totally count as baking; you melt something. As you might can tell, I’m pretty lenient when it comes to the whole “baking” thing, doing it only occasionally, but these just look adorable.
Brown Sugar Blondies with Valentine’s M&Ms @ Baked Perfection
These aren’t in the running for what I’m going to make today, since I don’t think they’ll yield enough, but I wanted to include them because they look like a nice change of pace from all the pink cookies while still being festive. I’d definitely eat them if someone offered me one!
Valentine Jello Hearts @ The Hungry Housewife
Normally, jello makes me want to run screaming the other way. I’m a picky eater, and not a fan of that jiggly, gross, . . . STUFF. However, I can’t deny how cute these jello hearts are. You know, if you’re in to that sort of thing.
Cherry Fudge With Dark Chocolate @ Shugary Sweets
I’m not a fan of cherry until it’s paired with dark chocolate, so this fudge sounds perfect to me! Probably not something I’ll choose to make, but definitely work taking a look at.
I have to admit, I think right now the strawberry jello cookies are winning out for me. They look amazing. Now I guess instead of writing about these treats I should actually start making some!
